Terms of Service (“Terms”)
Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”, “Terms of Service”) carefully before using the bettercleans.com website and marketplace platform (the “Service”) operated by BetterCleans (“the company”, “us,” “we,” or “our”).
If you book a service with BetterCleans, you agree to our following Terms of Service.
BetterCleans is a marketplace platform that refers professional cleaning Service Providers. BetterCleans takes pride in referring reliable, experienced and hard-working Service Providers. If you have any questions regarding these terms, please email us and we will be happy to explain them in further detail.
Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service. We also reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
The company does not provide cleaning services, and the company is not a cleaning service provider. It is up to the third party cleaning service provider to offer cleaning services which may be scheduled through use of this software or service. The company offers information and the method to obtain such third party cleaning services, but does not intend to provide cleaning service or act in any way as a cleaning service provider, and has no responsibility or liability for any cleaning services provided to you by such third parties.
Furthermore, the company is not responsible for any damage caused by the third party cleaning service provider, including but not limited to damage to property, theft, or injury. By using this software or service to schedule or engage with a third party cleaning service provider, you explicitly release the company from any liability or claim arising from the services provided by the third party.
The service providers do not offer wet wiping of light bulbs, resurfacing/waxing/refinishing of floors, upholstery cleaning, removal of any biohazards (e.g., insects, human or animal waste, black mold), large furniture moving, or large-scale trash disposal.
The service providers do not clean from a height, so cleaners do not bring ladders with them and are free to decline the use any ladders that may be provided to them.
An appointment may take longer than expected, depending on the specific size and condition of the rooms in the house, in which case the company will need to charge you accordingly. If this happens, we will contact you to inform you of any extra charges. We will never increase your booking rate before your approval.
The service providers reserve the right to refuse service if a house requires cleaning beyond the scope of work that they can provide or if they feel unsafe for any reason. The service provider will assess the home upon arrival and we will contact you as soon as possible if there are any issues.
The service provider also reserves the right to skip any areas that cannot be properly cleaned due to extreme clutter or biohazards.
We recommend safely storing any items of high monetary or sentimental value before the cleaning takes place to avoid damage.
All surfaces, such as wood and marble, are assumed to be properly sealed at the time of cleaning and not easily damaged by common cleaning products. If you have a specific product request, please let the service provider know ahead of time, and they will try to accommodate. However, it is possible that you may be asked to provide the requested product.
The rate may vary from each domestic worker. General estimates are posted on our website. Gratuity is optional and not required if you don’t feel 100% satisfied.
There is a 1-2 hour window of arrival for the Service Providers. Based on many factors, such as traffic, finding new homes, finding parking, bringing in equipment and navigating from one home to another, we cannot guarantee exact arrival times. The Service Providers try their best to arrive towards the beginning of the arrival window. If they need an arrival adjustment, we will notify the customer.
Because service providers reserve a time especially for you, any rescheduling or cancelation requests must be submitted before 5 p.m. the day before the service; otherwise, you will be charged a $40 late cancelation fee. This $40 fee is also applicable if the service provider cannot gain access to your home on the day of the appointment. We will attempt to text, call, and email you, but if we are unable to reach you, the service provider will be requested to leave, and we will cancel the booking.
On the evening PRIOR to your scheduled cleaning service, a hold will be placed on your card (for authorization) in the amount of your total balance. If your service is canceled or moved for any reason, this hold will drop off within two (2) to five (5) days. This hold is not a charge.
The company will check in with you by text after your appointment to make sure you are happy with the results. If you are a recurring customer, the check-in text will only be sent after your first three (3) appointments. However, you are always welcome to call, text, or email us to let us know of any issues that may arise after that point.
If there were no issues with the cleaning, charging is completed the morning after your appointment. You will receive an invoice via email once this occurs.
In case you are not happy with your service, the company will offer you a re-clean of the missed areas within a five (5)-day window from your date of service. For minor issues, we will offer you a discount proportionate to the areas missed.
If you do not respond to the check-in texts within three (3) days, the company will process the charge. Similarly, if you do not respond to the re-clean and/or discount offers within three (3) days, we will consider them rejected and process the charge.
The company must be informed of any changes to phone numbers or email addresses so we can easily contact you regarding your service. Additionally, we will always use the credit card number on file for holds and charges unless we are notified of desired changes at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment.
The company reserves the right to deny services to anyone seeking to use our cleaners outside of our service. This is a breach of our terms and conditions. This includes all future services and re-cleans.
It is your responsibility to pay for any services provided by or fees owed to BetterCleans, and failure to do so may result in legal action.
When you create an account with us, you must provide us with information that is accurate, complete, and updated at all times. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of the Terms, which may result in immediate termination of your account on our Service.
You are responsible for safeguarding your password to access the Service and for any activities or actions under your password, whether your password is with our Service or a third-party service.
You agree not to disclose your password to any third party. You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services not owned or controlled by BetterCleans.
BetterCleans has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. You further acknowledge and agree that BetterCleans shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with the use of or reliance on any such content, goods, or services available on or through any such websites or services.
We strongly advise you to read the terms and conditions and privacy policies of any third-party websites or services you visit.
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us regarding our Service, and supersede and replace any prior agreements we might have between us regarding the Service.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is made, we will try to provide at least 15 days’ notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, please stop using the Service.
